We will start the seminar with a few words from Valarie DuRant-Modeste, the Industrial Engineering academic advisor. She will talk about grades and common mistakes that students make their freshman year. She will be followed by a South Asian professor who will talk about adjusting to college academics and what it takes for a South Asian to get good grades in college. A representative from the Resident Hall Association will talk about the dorms on Georgia Tech's campus. There will also be a Peer Leader from one of the dorms to talk about Freshman Experience and life in the dorms for freshmen. There will be representatives from various Asian and South Asian social organizations available to talk about the various activities that you can engage in on campus. Georgia Tech supports many student organizations with a wide field of diversity and we hope to showcase that at GTCD.

Tours

After the seminar, the incoming freshmen will be broken into small groups led by current students. The groups will be taken around the campus and shown various landmarks. The leader of each group will be prepared to answer any questions that their group members might have.
